Aldergrove Farm asks visitors to treat their new camels with respect

Kensington Prairie Farm is asking locals to be respectful of the property and its new residents after a number of unwanted visitors arrived just days after the camels arrived.

Unfortunately, since August 19, when the camels first arrived at Kensington Farm, there have been many noisy visitors.

Milton wrote in an Instagram post that a visitor had attacked staff at the farm in an “aggressive” manner.

“Screaming and spitting at me and my staff, warning us of the so-called dangers of these animals and hurling insults and accusations at us,” the message reads.

“This aggressive encounter was both shocking and disturbing, especially as we were simply helping our new residents acclimate to their new home.”

The second and third unwanted visitors entered the farm grounds after sunset.

“It is critical to stress that uninvited entry to a farm, especially outside of designated hours (at the gate), is never acceptable. Such actions not only show a lack of respect for farmers, but also pose serious safety risks to both animals and intruders,” Milton wrote.

In the message, Milton encouraged positive relationships between farmers and residents.

“It is crucial that we, as members of the agricultural community, support each other. By building strong bonds and lifting each other up, we can all overcome the challenges of farming, and we can all thrive in our shared passion for caring for the land and our animals.”
