JENSEN BEACH — A man accused of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman in Colorado and recording the attack was arrested Friday by Martin County sheriff’s deputies.

Justin Najdawi, 33, was arrested around 3 p.m. Friday outside a home in Jensen Beach on an arrest warrant issued Aug. 7 by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office in Littleton, Colorado, on charges related to sexual abuse and possession of photographs or videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children.

Najdawi was staying at a home in the 2200 block of Northeast Marguerite Street, which the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said was obtained through an unnamed vacation rental service. Federal and local law enforcement agencies in Colorado and Florida coordinated his arrest Friday, and Martin County authorities arrested him after he left the home to eat dinner.

At the time of his arrest, Najdawi had a Texas-issued driver’s license. Martin County authorities said Najdawi had fled from Colorado, where the sexual assault allegedly occurred earlier this year, to Florida.

Najdawi is being held without bail in the Martin County Jail on an arrest warrant and will be returned to Colorado.

According to U.S. Department of Defense military documents, Justin Najdawi was dismissed from the Navy for misconduct and sentenced to six months in prison and demoted in 2013 after being found guilty of assault on an officer at a special court-martial in Mayport, Florida.
