Investigator Taylor Bristow died from a gunshot wound he sustained three days earlier while executing an arrest warrant in connection with a child sexual exploitation investigation.

He was helping Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents serve the warrant at a home on Don Rich Drive south of Carrollton. The wanted person opened the door and let investigators into the home. As they entered the home, the man pulled out a gun and shot himself in an attempt to kill himself. The bullet also struck Investigator Bristow.

Researcher Bristow was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he remained until he died from the wound on August 23, 2024.

Investigator Bristow served six years with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. He previously served with the Ware County Sheriff’s Office and Waycross Police Department. He is survived by his wife, two children, parents, sister and two brothers.
