The Challenge provides deeptech and science-focused entrepreneurs around the world with a platform for their projects, creating opportunities for equity-free financing, global visibility and connections with key players in the deeptech ecosystem.

The Challenge brings out the best in the binary world while anticipating the quantum revolution in areas such as:

• Hardware technologies – Supporting the sustainable development of the binary world. From new electronic components to energy-efficient data center systems
• Quantum systems – Building the building blocks of quantum computing for next-generation technologies.
• Electronics & Photonics – Nano and micro technologies enable a faster and greener digital world.
• New semiconductor materials – Improve semiconductor manufacturing processes. Wide bandgap semiconductors, thermal interface materials, etc.
• Connectivity and communication – Secure, energy-efficient and innovative communication systems and network technologies.
• Data science – Software and hardware technologies for collecting, storing and processing data.
• Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning – Groundbreaking AI models and AI-specific hardware, Edge AI.

Applicants compete for equity-free prize money: €100,000 for the Grand Winner, €25,000 for 2nd place, and €25,000 for the Emerging Pioneers Prize. Past finalists have raised more than $3 billion in funding.
