Another teenage girl arrested for robbery of elderly man

An 18-year-old girl has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a 64-year-old manthe police announced on Monday. Two other teenage girls have already been arrested in connection with the case.

The 18-year-old is believed to have been one of the people who arrived at the scene in a car when the 64-year-old man was lured to the back of a fast food restaurant in Limassol.

When the car arrived, the 64-year-old man was punched in the face and his wallet, which contained €5,000 in cash and his identity card, was stolen.

The girl is expected to appear in court on Monday to discuss her pre-trial detention.

The two other teenage girls involved, aged 16 and 15, were both remanded in custody last weekend for their part in the alleged crime.

The 16-year-old was sentenced to five days in custody on Saturday, while the 15-year-old was sentenced to six days in custody on Friday.

The 16-year-old girl was allegedly invited to the 64-year-old’s hotel room after she “recently met” him through the 15-year-old girl. Once in the hotel room, she allegedly asked to go out for dinner.

Then they went to a fast food restaurant, before the 16-year-old girl asked him to go through the back of the building to meet the 15 year old girl.

When the couple arrived there, a vehicle arrived containing the 15-year-old girl, another girl and two boys.

One of the two boys then allegedly attacked the man with a spray and hit him in the face.

The five youths then left the crime scene and the man was taken to Limassol General Hospitalwhere he received medical treatment and was subsequently discharged.

Police have said that “there is no question of sexual exploitation by the complainant” and that the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
