Berisha: Ambassadors should work for Albania, not in the interest of Rama’s government

The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, commented today at the Conference of Ambassadors held today in Tirana.

In a statement to the media, Berisha said that this is an attempt by Edi Rama to put the Albanian diplomatic service at the service of criminality and the interests of the national and international mafia. He called on the diplomats to distance themselves from the narco-state and serve the interests of the Albanian citizens and the nation.

Statement from Berisha:

“A unique case, because it has been four years since the decision to start negotiations was made and no chapters have been opened yet. This is due to the unconstitutional, anti-democratic decisions of Edi Rama.

In this meeting Edi Rama tried to give Albanian diplomacy a black party color. Present it as the diplomacy of the party state.

In this context, I am convinced that a diplomacy that is driven by the interests of Edi Rama is a diplomacy that seriously harms the interests of Albania and Albanians.

Therefore, I also call on Albanian diplomats to stand up as representatives of Albania and not as representatives of the head of the narco-state, Edi Rama. I cannot but repeat that this conference is being held at a time when, regardless of the gloss, Edi Rama is the only person who corruptly recruited the famous McGonigal to use him against the Albanian opposition. Recruited in corruption with his Agac, the man trusted by the Italian authorities to fight in the anti-drug war in Albania, General Lisi.

Edi Rama already appears in the big files together with his brother of the thefts of the century and of national and international traffic. Once again condemning the implementation of the principles of the narco-state in Albanian diplomacy, I once again call on the diplomats to stand up as representatives of their country and nation and not of a clique, a caste, a team that rules in alliance with crime, that rules with drugs and crime.”
