California Man Charged in Spencer, TN Sexual Exploitation Case | WAEW Talk Radio – 96.3 FM & 1330 AM

A California man is facing more than three dozen charges following an investigation into his online behavior by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

According to a TBI press release, in November 2022, TBI agents joined the Spencer Police Department to investigate an individual who was soliciting sexually explicit photos of minors online. Authorities subsequently identified the individual as 41-year-old Erick Mayorga of Montebello, California.

The Van Buren County Grand Jury has indicted Mayorga on 25 counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, 11 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means and two counts of unlawful exposure.

On Sunday, August 25, 2024, Mayorga surrendered to authorities at the Van Buren County Jail, where he was jailed on $75,000 bail.

The charges and accusations referenced in the TBI press release are merely allegations of criminal conduct, not evidence. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.
