According to a search warrant, authorities began investigating Coyner after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children about a report of child sexual exploitation. During the investigation, Coyner’s cellphone was seized.

“I executed a search warrant for his cell phone and located numerous files containing child pornography,” a Staunton police officer wrote in the search warrant.

Five files containing child pornography were allegedly found on Coyner’s cell phone. Police said the photos allegedly showed prepubescent children exposing their genitals, and said numerous links and communications allegedly showed Coyner attempting to obtain more child pornography.
