Steam has seen a surge in players for the original Mafia trilogy. As of August 26, the Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven remake had around 5,500 concurrent online players, up from less than a thousand gamers last week.

The sequel and triquel showed more modest results – around 2,300 and 2,500 players playing crime action games simultaneously. However, this figure is several times higher than last week’s results.

Mafia: The Old Country was announced at gamescom 2024. The title will be a prequel to the first Mafia, telling the story of the young Don Salieri, the antagonist of the same first Mafia, in Sicily. The release is planned for next year on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
