Caraveo Ad Outshines Facts on Her Fentanyl Dossier

How odd that a new ad thanks U.S. Rep. Yadira Caraveo for leading the legislature to take on the drug cartels, when she’s not doing any of that.

The ad is paid for by House Majority Forward, which describes itself as an advocacy group for progressives and social justice — ideals that are ostensibly at odds with law enforcement.

The ad says:

“Caraveo broke with her own party to vote for tougher penalties for fentanyl offenses, and she’s working to stop fentanyl from flooding across the border. Now Caraveo is leading legislation to crack down on the cartels. Let’s ask her to continue working to secure the border and pass the Anti-Drug Act.”

Yet PeakNation™ will recall that when Caraveo was still in the state legislature, she voted with Democrats to pass HB19-1263, decriminalizing the possession of fentanyl.

The legislation promoted in the ad makes no mention of drug cartels.

It was a small grant measure she introduced in February with just one co-sponsor, adding a few million more to the nearly $100 billion in border security funding in 2024, with a b.

The measure never got beyond the first committee to which it was assigned.

But above all, let’s ask her to secure the border. If only she had thought of that before she took on Republican Gabe Evans in one of the most hotly contested congressional races in the country.

From the National Republican Congressional Committee:

“Large-party Democrat Yadira Caraveo was caught red-handed trying to back out of the fentanyl crisis she created in Colorado in 2019. After years of Caraveo’s fentanyl crisis, it’s no wonder CO-08 is ready for change and ready for Gabe Evans, who has firsthand experience as a police officer combating her fentanyl crisis.”

We’re still trying to figure out why the ad about securing the border from drug cartels features Caraveo in a restaurant kitchen.

Probably because there is no video footage of her going to the border to see the problem with her own eyes, like Kamala Harris did.
