Thiruvananthapuram: Allegations of harassment and sexual exploitation in the film industry continue to surface, prompting a special police team to take action. The team, which includes women officers, has started collecting preliminary information regarding the allegations.

On Tuesday, the police chief will chair a meeting to outline the investigation, which will begin the following day. The investigation will be thorough and led by female officers, including a Deputy Inspector General (DIG). If complainants are willing to give statements, they will be recorded as part of the investigation.

A writer who has accused a director of harassment has filed a formal complaint with the Chief Minister. A Bengali actress who has alleged misconduct by director Ranjith has filed a complaint with the Kochi city police commissioner.

Actress Minu Muneer has also made serious allegations, accusing prominent actors Jayasuriya, Mukesh, Edavela Babu and Maniyanpilla Raju of misconduct. She also named Lawyers Congress state president Adv VS Chandrasekharan and Production Controllers Noble and Vichu in her allegations and said that complaints will be filed soon.

Moreover, a junior artist from Kottayam has accused actor Baburaj and director VA Sreekumar Menon of sexual abuse. She has expressed her willingness to give a confidential statement to the authorities.
