Kangana Ranaut reportedly asked to quit Bollywood industry by Karan Johar and Ketan Mehta

However, Kangana Ranaut is not one to hold back as she has slammed the so-called ‘Bollywood mafia’ and also stated that she doesn’t have many friends in the industry. Recently, in a chat with entertainment news portal Dainik Bhaskar, Kangana spoke about her initial days in the film industry. She said that she had come to Mumbai in 2004 to try her luck and had faced numerous failures before she tasted success. Her debut film hit the silver screens in 2006, but for the next 8-10 years, she managed to get through a rough patch.

In 2014, once she became successful, the scenario changed along with the nature of her criticism. It was said that she comes from a small village and is not of that social class to deserve the success she has achieved. The actress alleged that some people labeled her as unprofessional and that there was something wrong with her despite the long years of struggle.

The Panga actress also spoke openly about the problems she personally faced during that time. She said that people she had broken up with years ago sent her legal notices alleging that they had had a false affair with her. She alleged that the industry also put pressure on her, with people like Ketan Mehta and Karan Johar telling her to leave the industry. She said that if someone is truly problematic, they would have those qualities from the beginning, which would not take years to surface. She said how full of jealousy and hatred the film industry is, citing the tragic case of Sushant Singh Rajput, how a career can be destroyed.

Meanwhile, Kangana will next be seen in Emergency. The actress has directed the film, which also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade and Mahima Chaudhry.
