Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career- and customer-focused Systems Engineer to join our team in support of a large US government program in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Designs, develops, tests, debugs, and implements operating system components, software tools, and utilities. Determines design requirements for system software.
  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Generates policies, standards, and procedures for systems software engineering.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge and experience.
  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.
  • Solves complex problems; takes a fresh perspective using existing solutions.
  • Works independently, receives minimal guidance.
  • Acts as a source of information for colleagues with less experience.

Basic requirements:

  • Three to seven (3-7) years of experience in C4ISR projects, with significant experience contributing to two or more of the following: IA Compliance; Software Assurance and Security Engineering; System Security Architecture; System Security Analysis; CND Analysis; Threat Analysis; Exploit Analysis.
  • Experience in assessing, analyzing and making recommendations for critical CS/IA capabilities including CND, High Assurance and ISSE including Navy GENSER NSS and DBS
  • Experience in identifying and documenting attack vectors and prioritizing cyber risks; performing threat and risk assessments and analyses; providing threat and risk reports and briefings when developing Cybersecurity (CS)/Information Assurance (IA) standards; performing CS reviews during Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR), Platform Technical Review Boards (PTRB) reviews, Engineering Change Request (ECR) reviews and Ship Change Document (SCD) reviews;
  • Perform CS testing and analysis to identify CS vulnerabilities across a wide range of National Security System (NSS) and Defense Business System (DBS) systems including non-traditional IS, combat/weapon systems, airborne avionics, HM&E, ICS/NCS, SCADA, and specialty networks
  • One (1) year of experience is desired in defining standards, tools and processes for IA TA, DFIA and RMF. Extensive, highly relevant experience may be evaluated to replace the formal degree requirement.
  • Highly relevant experience may be evaluated to substitute for formal degree requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree + CISSP, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) and/or Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) (and/or other advanced CS/IA security certifications).

Admission requirements:

  • American citizen
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time
  • Continuously operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copier, and computer printer
  • The person in this position will be required to occasionally move around the office to access filing cabinets, office machines, etc.

The expected compensation range for this position is $102,700-$170,800. There are several factors that may impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies relevant to the position specified, geographic location (for remote opportunities), education and certifications, as well as federal government contract labor categories. Additionally, ManTech invests in its employees beyond just compensation.
