4 Arrests in Bay Area Online Child Abuse Heist

(KRON) – San Jose police said officers have arrested four men who were planning to commit sex crimes against children.

The department’s Internet Crimes Against Children/Child Exploitation Detail Task Force said they conducted a four-day investigation, from August 12 to 16, during which online communications occurred between the suspects arranging to meet a minor for sex.

The suspects arrested by the SJPD in this investigation are the following:

  • Jonathan Nunez, 32, of Watsonville
  • Carlos Mendez, 37, of Hayward
  • Christopher Roark, 23, of Antioch
  • Christopher Hus, 35, of Los Gatos

All suspects are being held in Santa Clara County Jail on crimes related to attempting to communicate with a minor for sexual purposes.

San Jose PD said that upon his arrest, Hus fled the area while detectives and special operations personnel attempted to apprehend him. Detectives subsequently obtained a warrant for Hus’ arrest. The suspect was later apprehended in Union City by the California Highway Patrol.
