A Columbus man will spend 25 years in federal prison after admitting he trafficked multiple women and forcibly coerced them into participating in sexual exploitation.

Terrael Alls, 29, previously pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to charges of sex trafficking and using a facility of interstate commerce to aid in racketeering.

The Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force first received a tip about Alls, who also went by “Rells” and “Ace,” in February 2022, after Alls gave a modeling agency business card to a woman staying at the Red Roof Inn on Renner Road.

The woman told detectives she found the interaction suspicious and that she looked up the company on the business card, court documents show.

The company, Elite Diamond Studios, and its associated phone numbers were linked to Alls and online sex escort ads.

According to court records, Alls would have women model for him as a photographer, luring them with promises that they would be part of his team and work for a marketing and advertising agency. He would act as the women’s “manager” and advertise them on various websites for sexual escort services. Alls would also film the women’s sexual exploitation, according to court records.

Alls would use drugs such as fentanyl and methamphetamine to control some of the women, using their drug addiction to continue exploiting them and making a profit, court records state. Other victims were beaten, thrown against tables or threatened with whipping or other violence,

Court records show that a laptop seized from Alls during the investigation contained more than 42,000 videos, images and advertisements. The laptop also contained women who were named as victims in the federal lawsuit.

Red Roof Inn is one of several hotel chains involved in ongoing lawsuits accusing hotel staff of failing to recognize the signs of sex trafficking.
