San Jose police on Tuesday announced the arrest of four men who allegedly attempted to text minors with the intent to engage in sexual acts.

According to a statement from the department, the arrests stem from an investigation conducted earlier this month by the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children/Child Exploitation Detail Task Force. Police said the investigation involved online messages arranging to meet a minor and arriving at a location where the suspects were arrested.

On August 13, police arrested Jonathan Nunez, 32, of Watsonville. The following day, Carlos Mendez, 37, of Hayward, was arrested. On August 15, Christopher Roark, of Antioch, was arrested. All three arrests occurred in San Jose.

According to officers, the three suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Jail for attempting to communicate with a minor for sex.
