₹2cr extortion demand by betel nut mafia

Nagpur: Offence registered against betel nut trader Wasim along with his gang for allegedly extorting Rs 2 crore from a businessman from Delhi and his cousin. The victims were called to a hotel, thrashed and told to pay the money. Sources said Wasim had received a consignment from a Delhi-based businessman and his cousin worth over Rs6.50 crore.
Wasim failed to make payments to the Delhi businessman and his cousin despite their repeated requests.
Their dispute was investigated and registered with the Lakadganj police station.
