Kangana’s remarks on anti-farmer protest cause uproar in Himachal Assembly

Taking a dig at the issue, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that only urgent issues would be discussed. He noted that while the opposition is demanding a discussion on a gang war between a gang from Haryana and another involved in drug trafficking, natural calamities are considered more urgent at the moment. “If the discussion was on the loss and damage due to heavy rains, we would have agreed to it,” Sukhu said.

He stressed that the son of the former MLA was detained within hours and strict action was being taken against lawbreakers.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan acknowledged that law and order was an important issue but said it did not warrant an adjournment motion and could be discussed under Rule 130. “We want a discussion on law and order as the Mahila Congress organised a rally against a BJP MLA and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s remarks on farmers,” he said.
