Job Summary:

The Software Engineer will provide on-site digital signal processing in support of DIA/ST/ATI-7 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS), Florida. The position requires a thinker/innovator who, when presented with a problem, will brainstorm ideas, solicit input, and when given approval to proceed, will create solutions, often as part of an integrated rapid prototyping team that integrates computing, sensors, communications, and programming to develop rapid prototype solutions.


Responsibilities:

  • Process, utilize, analyze, and report results of tests, demonstrations, and evaluations to determine overall effectiveness of sensors/systems.
  • Work with existing software (both COTS and GOTS) coupled with sensor packages and payloads to address complex integration activities, solving software and hardware interoperability and compatibility challenges.
  • Work in multiple programming languages ​​including but not limited to C, C++, JAVA, Python, JavaScript, C#. Client/server programming on both sides. Graphical user interface development.
  • Embedded programming in Linux and Arduino/C.
  • Support and participate in field testing and operational demonstration activities.
  • Provide support for internal technology development initiatives, including feasibility assessments of proposals and ongoing projects from other parties in government, academia and industry.
  • Create custom code to collect, process, exploit, and format data.
  • Work code solutions that use data from multiple locations, sensors and/or data types.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and create efficient, well-documented, and successful coding solutions that solve unique problems.
  • Participate in trade research to resolve technical issues and identify preferred solutions.
  • Participate in technical reviews to assess project progress from design through development and delivery.
  • Work as a team member on division-wide, multidisciplinary projects addressing critical IT issues.
  • Meet CCAFS industrial hygiene requirements.
  • Perform other tasks assigned to accomplish the ATl7 mission.
  • Throughout the project lifecycle, you need to be able to communicate clearly with clients so you can explain the progress and results of the work.

Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must have a non-disclosure agreement or higher security clearance.
  • Passed background and drug screening check.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and three (3) or more years of relevant experience.
  • DSP knowledge and practical experience.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows OS, command line scripting, single board computer programming (e.g. Arduino, Beagle Bone and RP) and C, C++, JAVA, Python, JavaScript, C#, React, Node and Docker.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an effective communicator.
  • Provide communication and support to the customer (internal or external).
  • Conduct investigations if necessary.
  • Works well independently and/or in a group.
  • Good writing skills to write reports if required.

Desired requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in software engineering, computer science, or a relevant field.
  • Analysis of software and hardware systems.
  • Vulnerability research.
  • Experience reverse engineering of hardware and software solutions.
  • Data exploitation.
