As a Penetration Testing Intern, you will identify issues and vulnerabilities under supervision by applying engineering to dynamically penetrate software, hardware, or human systems. You will work on efforts that result in the discovery of security flaws, exploitation, and proposed security controls and mitigations in response to security flaws. You will develop and implement penetration testing strategies and apply your expertise to engineer solutions. You will help influence mitigations for current and future products and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies security vulnerabilities within a specialty/area or responsibility.
  • Able to achieve new goals with the help of others.
  • Uses known information channels to gain context.
  • Verifies guidelines based on real-world observations, determines and understands the magnitude of potential impact, and identifies variance or examples of known problems.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school after completing the internship

Desired qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP and/or Security+ certification

The base salary range for this internship is USD $5,460 – $10,680 per month. A different range applies to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay Area and the New York City metropolitan area, and the base salary range for this role in those locations is USD $7,040 – $11,640 per month.
