Stella Nyamekye named Ghana captain for FIFA U-20 World Cup

The midfielder will lead the team with pride, supported by vice-captains Afi Amenyeku, a goalkeeper for Northern Ladies, and Mafia Nyame, a forward for ASFAR. Stella Nyamekye expressed her gratitude and said: “It is an honour to be appointed captain of the Black Princesses, and I will wear the captain’s armband with real pride. Leading the team at the World Cup is a great responsibility, and I will do my best to lead this team to success on and off the pitch.” The Black Princesses kick off their World Cup campaign against Austria on September 2, before taking on Japan and New Zealand in the remaining matches in Group E.
