Applications for the Magnet Forensics Scholarship Program are now open!

Magnet Forensics aims to increase diversity and help agencies address the talent shortage in digital forensics. Are you an agent looking to enter or advance in the field of digital forensics? This is your chance.

Learn more about the 2024 awards below and register before November 22, 2024.

Who can register?

There are two categories awarded in the Magnet Forensics Scholarship Program: new to digital forensics and advanced.

New to digital forensics is intended for promising agents who want to take a new direction and start in the digital forensics sector.

The advanced category is for experienced researchers who are new to Magnet Axiom and want the chance to really explore how powerful it can be in their research and how they can really leverage its capabilities. This can also be a valuable opportunity for researchers to learn more about Magnet Graykey (for those at agencies that are currently using it.)

Which receiver can receive

  • Access to a full curriculum of digital forensics training required to become a digital investigator
  • Qualify for leading certifications in digital forensics, including:
  • Magnet Certified Forensic Investigator (MCFE)
  • Magnet Certified Graykey Examiner (MCGE)

In honor of Sgt. Steve Martin

We are proud that the Magnet Forensics Scholarship Program is named after an officer who dedicated his career to combating child sexual exploitation: Sgt. Steve Martin.

Sgt. Martin joined the Peel Regional Police in 2003, beginning his career on uniform patrol. He would go on to serve in the agency’s community policing and the Criminal Investigation Bureau before joining the Internet Child Exploitation unit in 2013.

He passed away in January 2021 at the age of 40 after a long battle with cancer. He was survived by his wife and six-year-old daughter.
