Ray Liotta‘s daughter, Karsen Liottafollows in her late father’s footsteps as an actor – and she hopes to one day do a project in the genre that made him famous.

Karsen, 25, told exclusively We weekly that she would “definitely” like to be in a mafia movie someday. “It must be in my blood somewhere,” she joked during the Tuesday, August 27, premiere of 1992 at Regal LA Live in Los Angeles.

1992 marks Ray’s final screen appearance following his death in May 2022 at the age of 67. An autopsy report released nearly a year later revealed that he died of cardiac and respiratory complications, including respiratory failure, pulmonary edema, and acute heart failure.

Karsen, who Ray shared with his ex-wife Michelle Gracieattended the premiere in 1992 to honor her father’s memory. Although her father appeared in numerous films and television shows over the years, his most famous role was as Henry Hill in the 1990 classic Good guyswhich was directed by Martin ScorseseBefore his death, he co-starred with his daughter in projects including Shades of blue And Hubie Halloween.

Karsen said Us It was “bittersweet” to step in for her father on Tuesday, but she was proud to introduce his latest film to the audience.

“It’s weird to represent someone who’s not here, but I’m honored and I’m happy to be here on behalf of him and his legacy in general,” she explained. “He was amazing, he really was. This sounds obviously biased. He was truly an amazing person, friend, father, the most ride-or-die, trustworthy, honest, loyal, kind, sweet person and absolutely the funniest person you’ll ever meet.”

The actress wasn’t the only one raving about Ray at the 1992 premiere, which also featured Tires Gibson, Dylan Arnold And Scott Eastwood.

“Ray Liotta is a giant,” Christopher Ammanuelwho plays the lead role in the film, said Us of Ray on Tuesday. “He is the most beautiful soul you will ever meet, which is such a contrast to the gangsters he plays. Ariel Vromenwho directed 1992said Ray was a “great partner” on the project. “That guy never left the set,” Vromen recalled Us“He comes in the morning and stays on set until everyone else is gone. I wish he was here.”

Although Ray wrote the final version of 1992Vromen thinks he would be “proud” of the completed film.

“He asked me when I gave him the script, he said to me, ‘You know, I feel like I’ve done a lot of romantic comedies and a cop show with Jennifer Lopez“I think I’m ready to go all out again,” Vromen said. “And I thought, ‘Let’s do it.’

1992 will premiere in theaters on Friday, August 30.
