Haitian, Kenyan police launch joint operation to gain control of part of Port-au-Prince

Haitian troops have worked with police sent from Kenya to clear criminal gangs from one of the toughest neighborhoods in Haiti’s capital. The operation was announced Wednesday by Haiti’s Prime Minister Garry Conille at a Port-au-Prince hospital, where three Haitian police officers were recovering from wounds sustained in a shooting in the impoverished, gang-controlled Bel Air neighborhood.
