Honduran national charged with child sexual exploitation

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri — A federal grand jury in Springfield on Wednesday, August 28, indicted a Honduran national on charges of sexual exploitation of a child.

A federal criminal complaint was initially filed against 22-year-old Celso Noe Chacon-Arriaga on August 8, 2024, which was replaced Wednesday with the indictment based on two counts.

From November 21 through December 30, 2020, Chacon-Arriaga allegedly produced child pornography with an underage victim, and received and distributed child pornography while living in Springfield.

An affidavit included with the original complaint alleges that Chacon-Arriaga sent and received sexually explicit messages with an 11-year-old victim via Facebook Messenger and received sexually explicit images and photographs of the child.

Homeland Security Investigations, the Southwest Missouri Cyber ​​Crimes Task Force and the Springfield Police Department investigated the case.
