Micahle Hill sentenced to 70 years in prison

MADISON CO., Ala. (WAFF) – A harvestman has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after pleading guilty to multiple child pornography charges.

Michale Shaun Hill, 43, has been sentenced to 70 years in prison, followed by life supervised release, U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona announced Wednesday.

In 2007, Hill was registered as a sex offender after being convicted of sexual misconduct with an underage girl in Madison County.

In the summer of 2020, Hill communicated with someone he believed was a 14-year-old girl who was working as an undercover agent with the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force in Jacksonville, Florida. Authorities say the communication was sexual in nature.

The FBI’s Birmingham Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force executed a search warrant at Hill’s home.

Hill admitted to authorities that he was attracted to teenage girls, but he denied participating in or downloading online groups that spread child sexual abuse.

Investigation revealed that Hill had distributed child pornography online and had distributed the material through a social media group of 50 people. More than 250 videos and 700 images of child sexual abuse were found on Hill’s electronic devices.

Hill pleaded guilty to distributing child pornography, advertising child pornography and possessing child pornography.

As part of his sentence, Hill was ordered to pay $40,500 in restitution to the victims of his crimes.
