Man appears in court for child abuse

A 32-year-old man from Macgregor will appear in court in the Australian Capital Territory today after allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old girl.

Police allege the man abused the child in his home earlier this week.

It is further alleged that the man shared child abuse material with the victim.

Last night at around 7:30 p.m. (Thursday, August 29, 2024), police searched the man’s home. Child pornography was found on the man’s phone.

The man is accused of manipulating a young person, having sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 16 and possessing child abuse material.

The investigation into this case is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
