Man convicted of attempted child sexual abuse | Crime & Justice

A 32-year-old man who posed as a “life coach” and play therapist for children has been sentenced to 29 years in prison in Adams County. He pleaded guilty to first-degree assault, attempted sexual assault of a child and sexual exploitation.

Frank Raymond, who operated online as Arya Magi and played the role of “mentor and life coach,” according to authorities, was arrested by Thornton police on June 27, 2022, after he was found sleeping in a car with a naked 12-year-old boy.

Raymond was handcuffed and taken to the Thornton police station, where he was arrested and then “falsely released,” 9News reported. Detectives found him again two days later and questioned him, where he denied having sexual contact with the boy.

Investigators discovered that Raymond had an intimate relationship with the boy, after meeting in a park a year earlier.

The child called Raymond his “life coach” and denied a sexual relationship. However, searches of Raymond’s phone revealed a different story, authorities said. Videos were found of Raymond performing sexual acts on the child, and he was subsequently charged with crimes related to abusing and exploiting the child.

The discovery of videos on Raymond’s phone prompted Thornton police to obtain a search warrant for a cloud storage account containing thousands of files containing child sexual abuse material.

A Thornton police detective who worked on the case described the footage as the worst she had seen in her 30-year law enforcement career.

“This was an outrageous and horrific crime,” said District Attorney Brian Mason. “Sexual abuse of a child is outrageous. This defendant abused a young boy under the guise of a mentor and life coach. The boy trusted this defendant and then he harmed this young child in a profound and profound way.”
