Kangana Ranaut claims she was forced to leave the country by the so-called ‘Bollywood mafia’

We are always surprised by Kangana Ranaut’s candid revelations during her interviews. The actress has time and again spoken about issues like ‘Bollywood mafia’, alleged lobbying in the film industry and losing opportunities due to insecurities. Almost two decades into her acting career, the actress has worked in some great films.

In the recent interview, the Rangoon actress revealed how she went through the lowest phase of her career and the intense criticism she faced. Speaking to India Today, Kangana reminisced about the time when she moved to Mumbai in 2004 and did films like Gangster and Woh Lamhe in 2005. Her various roles as a gangster, a schizophrenic and a drug-addicted supermodel did earn her appreciation, but even after gaining recognition, she struggled with work.

The actress spoke about how she had to move to the US, where she bought a house in Calabasas, hired an agent and shot a short film. She blamed the film industry system, which forces prominent talents like her to leave. However, it was the release of Queen in 2014 that changed Ranaut’s fortunes completely. The actress believes that was the moment when audiences wanted to see realistic stories on screen and not stories influenced by foreign elements.
