‘It’s starting to get worse’: Colorado residents flooded with criminal migrant gangs | Law Enforcement Today

AURORA, CO – Residents of a city in the Denver metropolitan area are struggling with an epidemic of crime driven by illegal immigrants with ties to transnational gangs.

The gangs are so brazen that they have taken over entire apartment complexes in the city of Aurora, leaving residents terrified.

A Venezuelan gang leader is facing a series of criminal charges for separate incidents, one of which occurred after Jhonardy Jose Pacheco-Chirino missed a court hearing in connection with a brutal beating at a gang-controlled apartment building that prosecutors accuse him of, the New York Post.

John Fabbricatore, a retired Immigration and Customs Enforcement official and congressional candidate, described the situation as bleak in an interview with Fox and Friends on Tuesday. Aurora is not a sanctuary city, but concerned residents point to nearby Denver’s sanctuary status and the state’s pro-migration policies as a magnet for migrant crime.

“It’s starting to get bad.”

“We continue to see a lot of leaders trying to ignore it and not let the public know what’s going on,” Fabbricatore said of the situation. “A lot of these people are not your average asylum seekers coming in. A lot of them can’t even apply for asylum.” The Republican candidate for Colorado’s 6th Congressional District has blamed the Venezuelan criminal gang Tren de Aragua as partly responsible for the chaos in the city.

Four migrants with ties to the gang are facing charges over a brazen robbery of a jewelry store in June, the New York Post.

The city of Aurora has tried to discourage the arrival of new migrants, with the city council passing a resolution by a 7-3 vote against providing resources to new migrants arriving in the city. Denver has received more new migrants per capita than any other city in the United States, according to the After.
