Mayor Blames Biden-Harris Regime for Violent Immigrant Gang Taking Over Apartment Complexes · American Wire News

The Republican mayor of a Denver suburb in the news for the brazen takeover of several apartment complexes by a violent Venezuelan gang spoke to Fox News about the situation.

Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman appeared on Thursday’s edition of “America Reports,” where he updated anchor Sandra Smith on the shocking story of illegal alien crime in the Mile High City, a popular destination for the “newcomers” who have flooded into the country since the Biden-Harris administration took office.

A video of heavily armed foreign criminals breaking into an apartment has gone viral on social media as “border czar” and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has changed her mind about illegal immigration and is now trying to position herself to the right of former President Donald J. Trump on the issue.

“So there are multiple buildings that are actually under the same ownership, outside of government ownership, that have fallen into the hands of these Venezuelan gangs,” the mayor said when asked if the apartments were taken over. “I’m trying to reverse it and investigate how there is a concentration of Venezuelans in these, these three buildings. Somebody put them there and somebody funded it, whether it’s the federal government or not, we’re trying to find out who.”

“These gangs are apparently attracted to places where there are a lot of Venezuelan migrants, and so they’ve essentially pushed the property management out through intimidation and then collected the rent,” Coffman continued. “We have, or have had, it’s ongoing, operations with a task force of local law enforcement, state law enforcement partners, and federal law enforcement partners, to get them out and arrests have been made, but those operations are still ongoing.”

When asked by Smith whether the suspects were confirmed gang members, the mayor declined to say whether they were the notorious Tren de Aragua (TDA) gang, a group even crazier than MS-13 that has now opened a branch in the United States thanks to the Biden-Harris open-border policy.

“You know, they, this is an organized criminal effort. Whether it’s Tren de Aragua, that remains to be seen, but it really doesn’t matter. I mean, if they’re, you know, Venezuelan migrants and they’re and they’re, committing crimes in an organized manner,” he said.

“What I just heard from you is that you don’t know how they got there, and you even suggested that they might have been sent there by federal officials,” Smith responded. “I heard you suggest. I mean, do you have any reason to believe that’s the case?”

“So here’s the problem. I think we’re the victim of failed policy at the southern border, because what you have, Venezuela is not doing, according to my law enforcement, Venezuela is not cooperating with the United States to share criminal histories,” Coffman said, blaming the administration, adding, “You’ve had a third of the country leave. You’ve had these massive waves of migrants coming across the border, many of whom crossed the border illegally, were arrested, applied for political asylum, were not adequately screened, were released into the country.”

“The city of Aurora, we’ve done everything we can to, quite frankly, keep them out of the city, because it’s not our problem,” he said. “This is a federal problem. This is a federally owned problem. But what we’re trying to figure out, and what I believe has happened, is that federal agencies have worked with some of our local nonprofits and put them in there.”

The mayor stressed to Smith that Aurora is a big city and that the criminal element is only a small part of the total number of migrants, whom he described as “very good, good people.”

“This is just a couple of apartment complexes, but I’m not going to just hand over a portion of this city to criminals,” he said.
