International Arrest Warrant Issued for Tekashi 6ix9ine

Authorities in the Dominican Republic have issued an international arrest warrant for New York rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine.

According to the news outlet Diario Libre, the Court of Appeal in the judicial district of La Vega issued this order.

“This court issues a warrant for the arrest of the suspect and the execution of the guarantee of 500,000 Dominican pesos,” the statement said.

Late last year, surveillance footage was released showing 6ix9ine and two other men running into the studio building to attack two producers, only to flee moments later.

One of the victims had to undergo surgery after suffering a dislocated jaw. The producers were part of the team of Dominican artist Diamond La Mafia. The rapper tried to flee the country, but the authorities stopped him.

In January, the “Dummy Boy” rapper was arraigned on domestic violence charges on the island. A week later, he was released on bail, ordered to post $510 surety, undergo government counseling and meet with authorities every two months until they complete their investigation into allegations that he assaulted then-girlfriend Yailin La Mas Viral.

He was not allowed to leave the country until his legal problems were resolved.
