Driver admits killing motorcyclist in crash near Rotherham

A driver has confessed to killing a motorcyclist in an accident in South Yorkshire last year.

On Friday, Peter Tancos, 39, pleaded guilty at Sheffield Crown Court to causing death by reckless driving of 51-year-old David Bartley on February 1, 2023.

Tancos’ lawyer Richard Adams told the court his client had undergone therapy following the accident which took place on Hellaby Lane, near Rotherham.

Tancos, of Belmont Street, Rotherham, was granted unconditional bail pending sentencing at the same court on October 4.
