Charleston County deputies charge 73-year-old man with sexual exploitation of minor

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 73-year-old man in connection with the sexual exploitation of a minor.

William Robert Rattazzi, 73, of Charleston, has been charged with second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Sworn affidavits say the crime occurred in April, when someone distributed a photo of a girl between the ages of 8 and 10, depicted in a sexually explicit manner, via Bing Reverse Image Search.

Detectives were able to trace the source of the image to an IP address in Rattazzi’s home.

Rattazzi was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center, where he was being held on $50,000 bail.
