Lab technician arrested for 21 years of sexual exploitation of nurse

A 59-year-old man working as a laboratory technician with the health department in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested on suspicion of raping a nurse over two decades under the false pretext of marriage, according to police records.

The complaint, filed by a 36-year-old nurse, was submitted to Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Sabiha Khatoon, leading to a directive for police action. As a result, the technician, Chintamani Sharma, was arrested in Varanasi on Friday.

Bhadohi Superintendent of Police, Meenakshi Katyayan, revealed that Sharma and the victim had known each other since she was a teenager and that he had manipulated her by abusing her trust. Continuous abusive behaviour, including physical assault and destruction of property, was reported before his arrest.
