Ortega (along with her stylist Enrique Melendez) started strong with a series of striped looks that nod to Michael Keaton’s iconic suit as the title character, but has since gotten increasingly creative with her outfits.

While I was in New York City on August 19th, Wednesday actress took the stage in a plaid skirt and sweater by Thom Browne, which was a near-perfect imitation of Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz in the film’s memorable final scene. At the film’s UK premiere on Thursday, August 29, Ortega enjoyed perhaps her most creative red carpet moment yet.

The sculptural teal-and-black Harris Reed ensemble isn’t just a design feat, but — according to Melendez’s Instagram Story post — also a subtle nod to Catherine O’Hara’s character Delia Deetz in the original film. The dress’ colors are an inventive take on Delia’s love of black clothing and the large-scale green sculpture she creates.

She also wore black platform sandals by Brandon Blackwood and black opera gloves.

To top it all off, Ortega carried a house-shaped bag from Ozias, which was modeled after the Deetz family’s haunted mansion.

While in New York City on August 19, Ortega wore a Thom Browne costume that nods to the iconic final scene from Beetlejuice, specifically Ryder’s character Lydia Deetz.

Like Lydia, Ortega wore a navy sweater with an emblem and a plaid skirt. The actress put her own spin on the look with two-tone Mary Janes and a few rings, a Suzanne Kalan Golden Milli Stacker Diamond Eternity Band and a Rainbow K Ring Empress Sapphires.

She also added a striking accessory: a handbag for the recently deceased, made by Ozias, which references the film’s creepy manual.

Ortega wore a different Beetle juice recreation upon arriving in Italy ahead of the 81st Venice International Film Festival. On Tuesday, August 27, the star was spotted rocking a black-and-white checked blazer over a red top, which she paired with a pleated khaki miniskirt by Sans Faff. She accessorized with a large black crossbody bag by Tod’s, maroon Jimmy Choo loafers, half crew socks, and Garrett Leight sunglasses.

Fans noted that the look was inspired by Alec Baldwin’s role as Adam Maitland in the 1988 film. As Adam, Baldwin wears a black-and-white checkered shirt with a red T-shirt underneath and khaki pants.
