JCPD: Man arrested at his home on Friday after exploiting minor

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Detectives with the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) Special Victim’s Unit arrested a man at his home Friday after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s Network (NCMEC).

According to a press release from JCPD, the investigation was initiated after a tip from NCMEC’s ​​CyberTipline, as the department is part of the Tennessee Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Sawyer Cross, 25, of Johnson City, was charged with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor following the execution of a search warrant, the news release said.

Cross was taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
