Southern Idaho Man Arrested for Production and Possession of Child Sexual Exploitation Materials | Idaho

BOISE – Attorney General Raul Labrador announced that investigators with his Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested thirty-nine-year-old Michael Montoya of Burley, Idaho on Thursday, August 30, 2024, on two (2) counts of producing child sexual exploitation material, five (5) counts of possessing child sexual exploitation material, and one (1) count of distributing child sexual exploitation material after a search warrant was served at his home.

“Yesterday’s arrest involved multiple agencies working together to protect children from abuse and exploitation,” said Attorney General Labrador. “I am grateful for these effective partnerships and our unwavering mission to keep our children safe.

The agencies supporting the ICAC Task Force were the Rupert Police Department, the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office, the Idaho State Police in District 4, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Attorney’s Office, and the United States Postal Inspector.

Bail in this case has been set at $1 million.
