Billy O’Toole was the star of the MTV show Families of the Mafia. This is an American reality television series that premiered on April 9, 2020 on MTV in the United States. The show is a re-imagining of the short-lived Made on Staten Island.

The previous season focused on the lives of seven young adults living on Staten Island and trying to escape the influence of local organized crime. The second season premiered on July 15, 2021. Billy O’Toole, a member of the O’Toole family, became the talking point of season 2. Let’s find out what happened to him.

During the production of Families of the Mafia season one, Billy O’Toole of the Toole family was found dead in his Staten Island home. Billy’s autopsy report wasn’t released for 4 weeks, causing tension among his family members.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara O’Toole-Sheehan, his wife, Renee O’Toole, and seven children (Matthew O’Toole, Joseph O’Toole, Taylor O’Toole, Lyric Antonio, William O’Toole, Michael O’Toole, and Laila O’Toole) and his four grandchildren.

During a season one episode of Family of The Mafia, a message was displayed on screen that read: “During production, Billy (O’Toole) was found dead in his Staten Island home.”

Billy’s ex-wife Jess revealed that he was discovered at 7am on July 14, 2019. Here’s what she said after the incident:

“We don’t know how it happened or why it happened, and once we have clarity on how all this happened and we have given our family some peace and comfort, then we will announce it. But at this point, we still don’t know what the cause of death is.” (Thanks to realitytitbit)

Billy’s son Joe also spoke candidly about the last time he saw his father,

“We were hanging out, drinking beer — everything was good. Two days later I got the phone call that my dad was dead. I had lost my best friend, my role model, my Superman.”

Season 2 of the series revolved around Billy’s death, after his body was found during the season 1 finale.

There was even an investigation into his death to determine whether it was suicide or murder.
