Mohanlal beats around the bush

In romantic scenes on celluloid, he is good at running around between the trees. In real life, he proved that he is good at beating around the bush. Mohanlal, who broke his silence in the Report of the Hema Commission and the subsequent #MeToo movement proved to be a disappointment on Saturday.

The Japanese maxim of the three wise monkeys “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” was what came to mind while watching the press conference of the Malayalam superstar and former president of the now defunct AMMA (The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists).

Mohanlal could have done better, while he himself admitted that the sector was in crisis.

Unfortunately, when he decided to break his silence, it turned out that there was more to his silence than his muffled answers about the Hema committee report.

Mohanlal almost downplayed the serious #MeToo movement that emerged after the Hema Commission report was presented, saying that what usually happens in all sectors has also happened in the Malayalam film industry.

Mohanlal said he was shocked by the allegations but asked the media not to pelt stones at AMMA.

“Hikers should be punished if there is evidence against them,” the “Kireedam” actor said, referring to allegations of sexual misconduct and assault made against some members of the association.

“I am not part of any power group in Malayalam cinema and am not aware of the existence of any such group,” the actor was quoted as saying by PTI number.
