Capital witnesses Rs30m bank robbery in Shehzad Town – Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Robbers, burglars and thieves have been looting the heavily guarded capital on a massive scale over the past week, robbing people of cash, motorbikes, cars, mobile phones and other valuables worth millions of rupees.

According to data collected by Company recorderIn addition, during the same period, city police recorded 41 cases of theft, 17 cases of street crime, including stealing money and mobile phones at gunpoint, 105 cases of carjacking and two cases of murder.

The carjackers stole 105 vehicles from the jurisdiction of several police stations, including 13 cars and 92 motorcycles.

During the period under review, criminal gangs were most active within the limits of Khanna, Industrial Area, Koral, Karachi Company, Margalla, Aabpara and Sumbal police stations.

During the same period, the city witnessed a major bank robbery in Shehzad Town, where a heist worth Rs30 million took place. Armed robbers attacked the bank during the day, resulting in the death of a security guard and serious injuries to another.

However, the police claimed that they have arrested four bandits involved in the bank robbery. Police teams have also recovered stolen cash worth Rs19.7 million, two vehicles and weapons with ammunition used in the crime from their possession, they claimed.

During the same period, car thieves stole 10 vehicles, including nine motorcycles, from Industrial Area police station limits, nine motorcycles were stolen from Aabpara police station jurisdiction, eight motorcycles and one car from Margalla police station limits, six motorcycles and two cars from Khanna police station limits and another seven motorcycles and one car from Koral police station limits.

Last week, unidentified armed persons stole cash and a mobile phone from two persons, robbers struck at seven different places and carjackers stole eight vehicles from Khanna police station. Ten more cases of carjacking, four cases of robbery and one case of street crime and murder were reported at Industrial Area police station. Armed persons stole one mobile phone and a briefcase, carjackers stole eight vehicles and robbers were detained at five places at Koral police station. Two cases of robbery, three cases of street crime and five cases of carjacking were reported at Karachi Company police station.
