Leeds man to appear in court over attack on Sheffield police officer

A man has appeared in court after assaulting a police officer and carrying more than 100 wraps of class A drugs and a machete.

Yusef Camara, of Sandhurst Grove in Leeds, has been charged with three counts of possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine and one count of possession with intent to supply cannabis.

The 19-year-old, who was arrested on Upper Hanover Street in Broomhall, Sheffield, on Wednesday, has also been charged with assault by battery on an emergency worker, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of criminal property.

He was remanded in custody after appearing at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday, ahead of his next appearance at Sheffield Crown Court on September 27.
