Radical Democratic Congressional Candidate from Michigan Shamelessly Runs on ‘Secure Southern Border’ in Neck-and-Neck Race Against Republican Tom Barrett | The Gateway Pundit

Former Michigan state senator Curtis Hertel Jr. is a far-left, committed Democrat. He is running for Congress in central Michigan, in a district that includes the state capital of Lansing, population 112,000. The district is rated R+2 by political insiders, meaning it generally favors Republicans, but only slightly.

Hertel is the former legislative liaison to Michigan’s far-left Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. Hertel helped Whitmer pass a budget-busting $86 billion state budget filled with handouts to communist Chinese battery factories, abortions, driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants and other far-left priorities.

Hertels wife Elizabeth is Governor Whitmer’s Director of Health and Human Services who shut down the state for COVID, part of Whitmer’s illegal and unconstitutional far-left COVID power grab. The Hertels were COVID tyrannical hypocrites who left the state for vacation during the lockdowns.

The district was held by Rep. Elissa Slotkin, a deep-state far-left Democrat who defeated her 2022 Republican opponent, Tom Barrett, 52-46. Some called that previous race the most expensive congressional race in the country. Slotkin is currently running for the U.S. Senate against Trump-backed Mike Rogers. Hertel is running against Trump-backed Tom Barrett, and is running again as a Republican.

President Trump held another large rally in this district, a small town 15 miles southwest of Lansing, on Thursday.

Now far-left Democrat Hertel is sending letters advocating his commitment to securing the southern border, saying: “Prices are outrageous. The southern border is a mess.”

Hispanics make up only 2.45% of the district, so they are an expendable minority for Democrats. Democrats are in the midst of a so-called “Spanish panic“because far-left policies have kept the borders open for so long that large urban areas have turned into gangland deserts as a result of open borders, defunding of police, and expanding social services.

It is therefore not surprising that Curtis Hertel’s letters do not contain any return address other than the Democratic Party’s return address.

Democrat Hertel is essentially trying to take credit for opposing the Biden Administration on Border Security.

This is not a confident and bold left-wing political campaign.

Hertel also gets credit for working with Republicans, even though Lansing’s record in the previous legislative session consisted mostly of far-left legislation, with 1-2 RINOs being bought off, usually with ridiculous bribes from legislators.

Hertel says he “brought people together to get things done for us,” and he doesn’t list the details of those accomplishments:

But these are the kinds of lies that few voters look at, which is why Democrats can tell them easily and without consequence.

Also striking is that the Democrat, the party of diversity, is hypocritical enough to send out all-white mailers. While the left has been militant about injecting diversity into every TV commercial, every movie, and every possible social interaction, Democrats are now sending out racially segregated mailers where diversity is not a virtue they are touting. In contrast, mass marketing and campaigning following the BLM riots has used “forced diversity” to place racial and sexual identities in prominent positions in all communications.

Both Barrett and Hertel served together in the Michigan State Senate. Barrett was the state senator from 2019-2023, and Hertel served in the same chamber from 2015-2023.

Barrett is seen by voters as a conservative choice, but not extreme.

In fact, Barrett was criticized for surrounding himself with left-wing aides and advisers.

Despite doubts about the integrity of the election and systematic voter fraud in the 2020 election, left-wing politicians still attacked Barrett and demanded that Biden lock him up.

Michigan’s election is Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Under new Democratic laws, early voting can begin up to 28 days before Election Day, October 8. Mail-in ballots will be mailed out 40 days before the election date, less than a month from now on, September 26.
