Roads closed in Barnsley after incident at Monk Bretton junction

A number of roads have been closed following a ‘serious incident’ in Barnsley.

According to South Yorkshire Police, emergency services were called to Burton Road in Monk Bretton on Sunday afternoon.

The road, at the junction with Castle Close, is closed until the junction with Cliffe Lane. Rotherham Road is also closed at the same junction.

Police said the roads would be closed “for some time” while emergency services attended the scene.
