JD Vance Reveals the Truth Behind the Democrats’ ‘Joy’ Campaign

Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) said the message of “joy” from Democrats surrounding their nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, is “dark and ominous.”

During the Democratic National Convention (DNC), Democrats used the word “joy” dozens of times and continued to promote it as a theme for Harris’ fledgling campaign.

“As far as this joy thing, man, what I don’t understand is they say they’re joyful,” JD Vance told Breitbart.

“But if you look at their convention, it’s actually quite dark and ominous. Their whole story isn’t ‘we’re going to lower your gas prices, we’re going to lower your food prices, we’re going to bring manufacturing jobs back from China.'”

“They can’t say that because Kamala Harris didn’t do that. Their whole argument is that if you vote for Donald Trump and you want to change the direction of this country, you’re a bad person. I think that waging war on the citizens of your own country and saying that they’re bad people because of their electoral choices, that’s not cheerful — that’s very, very dark,” he said.

“And unfortunately, that’s where the Democratic Party is going. So they can talk about joy all they want, but I think most Americans who watched that convention didn’t see much joy.”

When comparing the two visions for the country, Vance said the GOP vision he and Donald Trump offer is “very simple.”

“If you work hard and play by the rules, you can raise your family and have a good life in this country,” Vance said.

“You should be able to have a good job where you are paid a fair wage. You should be able to grow up in a community that is safe and secure.”

“You should be able to send your kids to schools where they’re not being indoctrinated. And you should be able to build a life in a neighborhood that’s not overrun by Mexican drug cartels and fentanyl trafficking.”

Vance said the Democrats’ view is that anyone who votes for Trump is somehow a “bad person.”

“And I think their view, frankly, is that they — I don’t know what their view is. I don’t want to put words in their mouth,” Vance said.

“But their view seems to be that you are a good person if you vote the right way and a bad person if you vote the wrong way.”

“As far as I can tell, it’s like Pete Buttigieg talked about this (at the DNC), it’s like politics is everything in your life and that’s where you can find redemption and meaning and purpose.”

“I think Republicans, our attitude toward politics is that we want to have effective government because we want safe streets and a strong economy, but politics is not where most people find their place and it shouldn’t be where they find their place.”
