Month-long campaign launched by MP Unit of JIH’s Women Wing

Bhopal: In September 2024, a month-long nationwide campaign will be launched by the women’s wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH). The theme of this campaign is ‘Morality is the basis of freedom’. The campaign aims to create awareness and tell people what real freedom is and how to link it with morality.

In Madhya Pradesh, this campaign was launched with a press conference held in Bhopal on Sunday, in which Nazima of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Bhopal, Ms. Mahnaz said that the mentality of cruelty towards women has spread like an epidemic and is affecting the peace and development of our country. The main reason for this curse is the decline in moral values ​​in the name of freedom. Problems like lack of moral values ​​in the society, objectification of women, sexual exploitation and abuse, prostitution, extramarital affairs, increased use of alcohol and drugs, etc. lead to harassment and exploitation.

Similarly, apart from the rise in sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), abortions, sexual violence and rape, the breakdown of the family and the prevalence of shamelessness are fast eroding the moral fabric of the society. She further said that the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Women’s Department was concerned about various kinds of moral evils spreading in the society and we decided to conduct a month-long awareness campaign on these evils. This campaign is a link in this series, Ms. Mahnaz said.

The State level campaign leader, Ms Rafia, said that the aim of the campaign is to alert the society about the dire consequences of unbridled freedom that unfolds due to the loss of moral values. The increasing crime against women forces us to think whether we are really free and safe. Freedom means not being violent, violating the rights of others, exploiting women and injustice. The aim of this campaign is to give the right direction to the safety of women and the mindset of the society towards women.

Mrs. Habiba Malik, in-charge of Women’s Department, Bhopal said that God has established this earth on justice and as per the intention of that Lord; justice should be practiced as long as this country and its system are running. Just as air, water and livelihood have been given by God to all human beings, similarly morality and moral qualities have been given by God to all human beings, one of the objectives of this campaign is that every person should recognize these moral values ​​in himself and follow them accordingly. Justice is the intention of God and doing justice is the act of attaining a high position before God.

Speaking about the national campaign ‘Morality is the basis of freedom’, Ms. Razia Masood, Media Co-In charge, JIH, Madhya Pradesh Unit said, “It is undeniable that only by following moral values ​​can one achieve true life and lasting freedom. The objective of this campaign is to ensure the necessary freedom to meet basic needs and achieve basic rights for all without discrimination on the basis of caste, community, colour and race, gender, religion and region.

During the campaign, awareness programmes are being conducted with academics, counsellors, lawyers, religious scholars and community leaders at national, state, district and grassroots levels. Special programmes are being organised on campus to familiarise students and youth with true freedom and moral values. The special programmes with scholars of various faiths are being organised for public discussion on common moral values ​​in every religion and culture, Ms Razia Masood added.
