Panama investigates links between companies and drug trafficking

After dismantling the modus operandi of gangs involved in drug trafficking and money laundering, initial investigations pointed to companies such as Mared SA and Servicios Rama, as well as the company Soluciones de Entrega y Transporte SA, which has links to Abraham Rico Pineda, son of Raul Pineda, a member of parliament for the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD).

Rico Pineda also appears with commercial connections in New York, United States, in connection with the company PR Cleaning Services Corp.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office determined that the criminal group received the drugs from Colombia in small fishing boats and speedboats. These arrived at reception points in the Guna Yala, Darien and Panama regions and then sent them via jungle trails to the border with Costa Rica.
