Shots fired outside singer AP Dhillon’s home in Canada, car set on fire; Lawrence Bishnoi gang claims responsibility

A shooting incident has been reported outside the residence of Punjabi singer and rapper AP Dhillon in Vancouver, Canada. While official confirmation is still awaited, sources told India Today TV that gunshots were heard near the singer’s home in the Victoria Island area on Sunday night. Reports also said that the assailants set his car on fire and fired multiple shots.

The shooting incident took place on the night of September 1. A video, which cannot be independently verified, has surfaced on social media and is going viral. The viral video shows a man standing in front of a house at night and firing multiple shots.

After the shooting incident, a post also went viral on social media. In the viral post, Rohit Godara (Lawrence Bishnoi group) claimed responsibility not only for the shooting incident in Vancouver but also in Woodbridge, Toronto. Apart from taking responsibility, the post also issued a death threat to Punjabi singer AP Dhillon, citing his close ties with Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

It is pertinent to note that the development comes just weeks after AP Dhillon released a music video titled “Old Money” featuring Salman Khan.

The threatening message claimed that they had carried out shootings at two locations in Canada on the night of September 1: one on Victoria Island and the other in Woodbridge, Toronto.

The message also threatened AP Dhillon, citing his connections with Bollywood actor Salman Khan, and warned him to “stay within his limits” or he would die “the death of a dog”.

Canadian law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the authenticity of the post that claimed responsibility for the two shootings. However, police have not issued an official statement regarding these developments.

Earlier, in November 2023, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for a shooting incident that was reported outside the home of singer Gippy Grewal in Vancouver, Canada. The incident took place in the White Rock neighborhood.

In April this year, two bike attackers opened fire outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area and fled the scene. However, they were later arrested. The attackers are believed to have links with the Bishnoi gang.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang is one of the notorious gangs accused of being behind several targeted killings, gang wars and criminal activities. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had earlier revealed that Salman Khan was one of their targets.

Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is said to have made a list of ten people he wants to eliminate, with Salman Khan reportedly among them.

The gang’s motive stems from the 1998 blackbuck hunting case in which Salman Khan is accused. The group claims that his act deeply offended the Bishnoi community.
