Streamwood man accused of abusing 1-year-old girl, sharing videos

Cruz Estanislao, 24, of Streamwood is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault and other crimes

Authorities said Friday that Streamwood had not granted pretrial release for its videos.

Cruz Estanislao, 24, of the 100 block of Nettle Lane, is in the DuPage County Jail and faces four felonies: predatory criminal sexual assault, victim less than 13; one count of Class X child pornography; and one count of Class 1 child pornography.

According to the DuPage County District Attorney’s Office, a special agent with the Department of Homeland Security Cyber ​​Crimes Center Child Exploitation Investigations Unit received information about an individual producing child abuse material on Wickr, an end-to-end encrypted messaging app. The unit and Hanover Park police identified Estanislao as the suspect, authorities said.

Authorities say that while producing the child pornography, Estanislao sexually abused a female relative who was approximately 1 year old at the time and shared the videos between February and April 2023.

Estanislao was arrested on Thursday after a traffic stop.

During the initial court hearing on Friday, DuPage County Judge Joshua Dieden granted prosecutors’ request to deny Estanislao’s pretrial release, authorities said.

In a press release, DuPage County District Attorney Robert Berlin praised the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybercrime Exploitation Unit and the Hanover Park Police Department for their work in what he described as an “extremely disturbing case.”

Estanislao’s next trial is scheduled for September 23.
