AIYF supports director Aashiq Abu

In a statement of support, the All India Youth Federation (AIYF) has extended its support to director Aashiq Abu, describing the “planned attacks” on him.

AIYF supports the filmmaker after Suchitra made comments about him and his wife.

The state board of AIYF has condemned the targeted campaigns being carried out by certain groups on social media and other platforms. These campaigns are aimed at discrediting Aashiq Abu, who has been an outspoken advocate on issues such as women’s safety and labour exploitation in the film industry.

“We will not allow any attacks to be orchestrated against director Aashiq Abu,” AIYF said.

They criticised the ongoing campaigns as planned and deliberate attempts to silence Aashiq, who openly speaks the truth on various issues in the Malayalam film industry and the broader cultural sector.

AIYF leaders, including state president N Arun and secretary TT Jismon, have announced that they will take legal action against the sectarian and provocative false propaganda being spread against Aashiq Abu.

The filmmaker had expressed his strong displeasure and protest against the delayed reaction of the Report of the Hema CommissionFollowing his criticism, he resigned from the Film Employees Federation of Kerala.
